  • PTA Summer Fair

    After months of planning and a lot of hard work from our amazing team of PTA volunteers, our Berewood PTA Summer Fair was held on Saturday 30th June. Staff, parents, carers and children all joined in the fun which included fair ground rides, raffle, tombola, face painting, lots of stalls, and many events and displays in the arena.   • YR Teddy Bear's Picnic

    As part of their Bears topic, YR held a Teddy Bear's Picnic for parents and carers on 24th May 2018. The children worked hard in the weeks before the picnic, shopping for and cooking the food, and learning about money in class.

  • Pirate Ship Opening

    Our PTA have been working hard over the last few years to raise money for a galleon climbing frame in the Year R outdoor learning area, and we had a Grand Opening to celebrate it's arrival. Children came to school dressed as pirates and a ribbon was cut by footballer Nathan Thompson from Portmouth Football Club.

  • Year 2 Trip to Action Stations

    On Tuesday 6th March, Birch and Oak classes visited Action Stations at Portsmouth Historic Dockyard as part of their Up, Up and Away topic, travelling there and back by train.

  • Year 5 & 6 trip to Stansted House

    Published 01/02/18

    On Tuesday 30th January, Peake Class imagined what if would have felt like to be a WW2 evacuee for a day. They dressed as evacuees and travelled by train to Rowlands Castle, before walking across the fields to Stansted House. There, they toured the house, learnt about rationing, made ragrugs, played with toys from that era and handled pre-decimal money.

  • Roaming Robots & Japan

    Published 01/02/18

    In the autumn term, the topic in Year 3 and 4 was Roaming Robots. The children found out that most robots are manufactured in Japan, so used the opportunity to learn about Japanese culture in the Geography lessons, including tasting food like noodles and seaweed, and folding their own origami shapes.

  • Christmas 2017

    The school is always a busy and festive place in the weeks leading up to Christmas but the 19th December 2017 was especially fun. Children and staff came to school wearing Christmas jumpers and ate a Christmas lunch together. Children made and decorated their own place mats and the PTA supplied crackers for everyone.
